⛓️ My father hated his job...when he headed home in a bad mood...he showed up like a monster...angry and disappointed...full of anger, resentment and he displayed his emotions by letting me have it, by belittling my mom who loved her job...by raising his voice, by throwing tantrums...mom said he had Asperger’s to make up for his lack of depth and compassion...what a cop out (lame excuse) ...when you choose to be a father...you are a leader (of your family) responsible to role model and be supportive (grow the f-up)...How I honor my father is by being completely the opposite of him...although he was an unbelievably hardworking man, provided a roof for the family...his personal issues belittled his positives (his lack of maturity came with a heavy cost to everyone around him)
...so I made a promise to myself to find a job, a career I can be proud of, something I excel in, and lovet...the ups, and downs...and NEVER take my BAD Days home to my loved ones....
🔥 I love recruiting...I love being a recruiter...in fact why I never lasted more than 1 year at a staffing agency is because money was not my motivation to do a great job... it was to improve the quality of life of candidates, improve companies by finding them amazing employees creating staffing solutions that work. So, I founded Recruiting for Good in 1998 to be a value driven company, finding professionals sweet jobs they love, helping companies grow; and generating proceeds for cause. After trying to collaborate with nonprofits, I found 90% of them to be completely transactional, just wanting donations, without input or feedback on how they can improve...so I decided to create my own higher purpose community programs in 2017 I launched Our Moms Work create a support service for moms with gaps in their resumes...it evolved into lunches and a support group so moms can listen to each other (in 2007, I was fortunate to meet a man who introduced me to MDI a nonprofit for men that taught the values of purposeful living serving families (loved ones), oneself, and greater community). They mentored me, and helped transform me...my business, and life (instilling foundational habits, skills, and values to create real change).
⏳ Before I started my career in recruiting, I worked as a teacher for 10 years Pre-K thru middle school, and did a stint in special-Ed at the HELP Group, later pursued a Master's in MFCC, while in graduate school I had 3 jobs to cover the costs and never ask my dad for help...because it came with a heavy price...I met Alan Gregor, and he changed my life...he was a recruiter...and he saw something in me..."you would make a great recruiter"...so I quit grad school went on countless of interviews to land a job as a recruiter in a staffing agency...and the rest is history...

In March 2020, yes during COVID...I launched community project "Kids Get Paid to Eat" I hired 15 kids to eat and review the top 100 dishes in LA. Every weekend kids picked the dishes, I paid for the food, and I drove and delivered the food myself, and by May 2020 the list was complete...
✦
that was the premise for The Sweetest Gigs...imagine what life would be like if your 1st job was awesome; fun, fulfilling, and meaningful... both to you and the community too...all the while learning sweet skills, success habits, and positive values and making mom, dad, and grandma too proud! Over the last 6 years, I have created over 100 unique gigs, served over 300 kids, created a methodology Girls Design Tomorrow™ (collaborated with parents, and conducted over 3000 of mentoring hours with kids and moms present at the same time. Girls were in Austin, LA, NJ) And changed lives forever. The Sweetest Gigs did start with boys...but they just did not have the interest, maturity, or passion, or desire to grow from within...so that is why its only Gigs for Girls. I am using Recruiting for Good to Fund Sweetest Gigs; girls who land a yearlong gig are paired up with a mom mentor (who is paid for her time). The cost is $3000 per girl. That is also why I created sweet rewards for referrals (3 year luxuries to incentivize professionals who do not have kids, but love luxury rewards that improve their life). Anyone who successfully makes a referral can choose the girl-we mentor for one year.
