Can kids use their creative writing skills to make a difference? The answer is a resounding, YES! We are proud to announce our first Olympic High School creative student writer winner; Adrian Rocha, whose sports essay inspired our judge Craig Bergman, founder of creative writing company Word Up Kids, "Adrian Rocha's essay had the most originality and fire" (to read Adrian's story, click here.).
Adrian won court side tickets to see his favorite team the Clippers with his dad. That's the view from his seats (VIP tickets provided by First Choice Tickets, special thanks to Kenny Forman owner).
This is a proud moment for son and father. I visited the school to show Adrian the tickets he won, and to take a picture with teacher Susanne Liaw who inspired the students to participate, and give their best. And I followed up, later to hand deliver the tickets to Adrian's father, Rolando Cortazar.
We are grateful to inspire, reward, and serve students who participate in our creative writing competitions. You have made us all proud, we solute you Adrian, you are truly a Fan for Good!
