The Chief Architect will strategize, evangelize, define and provide technical oversight of our new architectural implementation. You will act as a technology guru providing guidance and support across all development teams. Superior organization, written communication, verbal communication and presentation skills are essential to success. This position will lead and align all technical architecture roles under one virtual team across products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of our next generation cross product enterprise platform
- Functional requirements review, architecture strategy development, platform architecture design
- Publish design and architecture documents, models and whitepapers
- Own end to end platform performance and resiliency
- Provide technical diligence for various tech stacks and frameworks
- Build reference implementations and proof of concepts
- Provide implementation oversight and governance across multiple team
- Provide hands-on assistance with teams as needed
Basic Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science
- 10+ years software engineering experience
- 5+ years in a Software Architect roll
- Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) & SOA design patterns
- Direct experience architecting and implementing scalable server-side solutions
- Experience with:
- Application resiliency and availability.
- Security; authentication, access control, SSO (SAML, OAuth)
- Scaling and performance; caching, threading, distributed architectures
- Persistence; NoSQL DBs, relational DBs, graphDBs
- Client-side frameworks; web, mobile web, native mobile clients
- Cloud hosting environments and deployment (AWS)
- Microservice architectures and containerization
Preferred Qualifications
- MS in Computer Science
- Background as a polyglot developer
- eCommerce w/native mobile background (Apple, Android)
- Experience with:
- RoR, Clojure, Exilir, Scala, Javascript, Swift
- MEAN stack, Lightbend stack, Kafka, Flink, Spark
- MongoDB, Redis, MySQL, Postgres, Neo4J
