Mom and I went to Fred and Murray’s Kosher Deli after Hebrew school this week and we had dinner there.
When the waitress came I ordered two hot dogs and a potato knish. Mom ordered a brisket knish and a pastrami Reuben sandwich. It wasn’t very crowded there so we got our service quickly. Mom told the waitress that I loved pickles and she brought out two different types of pickles.
They were called dill pickle and half sour. I really liked the dill pickle. It was very sour and had a lot of flavor. The half sour pickle was good too although it didn’t have much flavor and tasted a little plain like a cucumber.
When they brought the food out quickly too, I was like “oh my gosh Mom. That was so fast!” I started with a bite of the potato knish. It was so hot my mouth was on fire! Then I took a bite of my hot dog. Wow, it was so good!
Then, I tried mom‘s brisket knish and let me tell you that was good! It was delicious with the gravy on it. Heads up - it could easily get mistaken with caramel! I couldn’t even finish one hot dog. It was so filling and I was full from all the knishes I ate! Mom really liked her meal and she also liked the coleslaw that came with it. Ew!! Coleslaw.
Mom made me get my dessert all by myself but I didn’t want to because I am very shy to new people. I thought they were going to charge me when I went over to the counter but mom told me they wouldn’t and they would charge us with the receipt. I chose a brownie that was so fudgey and so yummy. It also had some chocolate frosting and rainbow sprinkles on it.
Our September “Beauty Foodie News, Mom and Me Dinner” was great and I would go there again.
