Most people know me, Carlos Cymerman for my work at Recruiting for Good (for last 25 years helping companies find and hire talented tech professionals).
Before Recruiting for Good, I worked as a teacher, and even attended Grad School to become a therapist.
In 2008, I fell into a deep depression, the best thing that ever happened in my life. I found an empty hole in my soul...no purpose. So I started writing in a journal, and reading a book a week (I did that for 3 years). All the while I joined a Men's Leadership Nonprofit (Mentor Discover Inspire) that helped me define my purpose, teach me meaningful skills, and fueled my desire to play a bigger game.
Love to Party for Good...Me Too!
I have hosted the sweetest contests (once rewarded tickets to Super Bowl), parties ever; I once showed up at a client site where I rented a huge camper, and took 20 employees to a Lakers Game. I created a party called 'Kickass & Party for Good,' invited over 50 people from the community who make a difference to experience the best dining in Santa Monica. Every 2 hours, I was at a different restaurant with 10 people, 5 restaurants in 1 day...yikes!
“While on vacation in Ireland, I had a bad day, and needed to cheer up so I thought I could do some good in the community. But I didn’t know anyone, so I thought about the parties I created and sponsored in LA for Women. I needed to create one kickass party just like that in Killarney (population 14,504). At breakfast, I got lucky, across the way, there was a beauty shop called, ‘What Woman Want‘ I walked in and introduced myself to Noreen Mangan the owner (pictured below), and told her I wanted to sponsor a party to Celebrate Women Who Kickass in Killarney, and reward them chocolate and beauty services….and lucky for me she said YES!” Carlos, Fun Founder, Recruiting for Good.
My life is filled with sweet fulfilling experiences...I love to kickass and party for good every day...so I started to think about who I can impact and inspire the most...kids...In March 2020, I launched 'Kids Get Paid to Eat;' hired 15 kids to review the Top 100 Dishes in LA, I delivered every meal (every weekend), and we finished the 100 list in 2.5 months. That led to creating The Sweetest Gigs (having served more than 100 kids over the last three years)...I know what really works...
The Next Chapter
How Legends are Made…
"The 12 Month Sweet Community Gig. Yes, kids are personally mentored by moms for one year (we appreciate our moms, who need to be paid for their time, we're using recruiting for good to fund all the fun). Kids will work on creative fulfilling writing gigs to build up their confidence, discover their passion, fuel their play (creativity and imagination). Culminating in sharing their sweet experience by creating a meaningful experience/party that is Good for Them and The Community Too!”
