I have been very fortunate to be always listening to my gut, acting on my instinct, following my heart, learning, failing, and persevering. It's been about 10 years since, I dreamt of a way to combine my passion, purpose, and play.
I met Mary Jacobs at Peets on Montana around 2011, and she asked me to be her mentor; which I said Yes...without even giving it a second thought. We met weekly, and sometimes daily about the life she wanted to create...and she did...she authored One Two Follow Thru (a thoughtful children's book, teaching positive values), and now is starting her Golf Academy in Bend, Oregon.
Thru Recruiting for Good while doing searches for Entertainment Partners I met Tracie Peddie one of the Founders of Kitt Crusaders. I helped the nonprofit launch their first website outside of Facebook and redesigned their branding (checkout the awesome postcard), sponsored several parties, and helped raise donations thru collaborations.
In 2012, I met Taryn Hipwell while doing a high purpose transformational training in LA. I fell in love with her passion for making a positive impact in Fashion (Ecodivas). We spent hours trying to collaborate and co-create a venture for girls (I had all the passion, and none of the skill to lead thru purpose, and create something meaningful....It took me 10 years to catch up to Taryn). So, the collaboration didn't go anywhere. That was then, this is now (Girls Design Tomorrow 2022).
I was so fortunate to meet Justine Lassoff and Melinda Moore at a Digital LA Party in 2013, when they shared their idea of starting Tuesday Nights, I had the opportunity to use my social network to support and find them good partners (having attended Girls in Tech Parties in 2010, when they were organized by Laurel Mintz it was a natural introduction to Justine). I also sponsored one of Tuesday Nights first parties at Floral Art (October 2013). Justine introduced me to one of the best nonprofits Lets Fuck Cancer...they really knew how to create community, show their supporters their appreciation thru amazing party events. I learned quite a bit about creating a kickass, social, and value filled community.
By meeting wonderful women, inspiring nonprofits, creating positive impact meaningful creative contests, experiences, and sweet parties for over 15 years; I began formulating what my life would be like...if everyday was a party...I celebrate and appreciate everyday...Today, I lead kids thru The Sweetest Gigs (and soon Girls Design Tomorrow), have a monthly Party A Sweet Day in LA (rewarding LA's Sweetest Treats for Kids), and all the while I am helping talented professionals land sweet jobs with companies so they can kickass and party for good. And helping companies find the best talent in a timely manner. I brought balance to my life...and I embody and role model the values for a fun fulfilling life....and given the chance...I can teach them to anyone who is willing to learn!
Love to Make a Positive Impact in Girls Lives and Party for Good...I am using my company, Recruiting for Good collaboratively to generate proceeds from staffing placements (services/solutions for companies) to fund positive impact work programs for kids, and we're inviting the commmunity to participate by rewarding referrals that enable us to Do More Good with The Sweetest Trips to Party for Good (Food, Music, Sports).
Coming This Summer, Girls Design Tomorrow a Passion Driven Venture Mentoring Program for Girls; that will shift the work+life paradigm, by teaching teen girls to create and lead a company that makes a positive impact.
