FAQ Girls Design Tomorrow

We Love to Answer Sweet Questions

  1. How are sponsored experiences funded? Staffing agency, Recruiting for Good rewards referrals to companies hiring professional staff. A portion of the placement fee is shared to fund the sponsored experience; hire and pay expert mentors to lead girls.
  2. After referral how long will it take to fund experience? Typically between three to six months.
  3. Why look for remarkable girls for sponsored experiences? We are looking for girls who have an innate desire to be leaders and role-models (not everyone is suited to be both).
  4. Can I choose anyone to participate in Girls Design Tomorrow? We're currently serving only Southern California girls who are in 5th grade or middle school (exceptions are made on extraordinary requests, for younger mature girls, or girls in Arts expression experience).
  5. Can I gift the experience to a family member or a friend's kid? Yes.
  6. If I am a dad, can I gift my daughter a Girls Design Tomorrow experience? Yes, we love to support men and women who love to make a positive impact in girls' lives.
  7. Why only 100 Girls? Staffing is labor intensive, finding the right candidates takes time and effort. Also our expert mentors are mostly busy moms, and their time with Girls Design Tomorrow is precious. We honor their time by paying for their expertise, and respect them for how much time, they make for 'Our Girls!'
  8. Why only 100 Girls? We are looking for girls who come from families where values already exist. Girls Design Tomorrow is a mentoring experience not a parenting experience. Agreements are made between participants (girls/parents and Recruiting for Good Founder, Carlos). 'Keep your word, follow thru, respect mentors, and have fun!'
  9. Are there scholarships? No. Why? Because, we have painstakingly taken 4 years to develop Girls Design Tomorrow; and our mentors are also paid for their expertise/time. And families/girls come to appreciate something they earn more.
  10. Can anyone in the community sponsor a girl? Yes (must be at least 21 years of age).
  11. What if a family wants to sponsor more than one experience, can they do it? Yes.
  12. How long are Girls Design Tomorrow mentored experiences? Typically one month to one year (like sponsoring a book or math club; or a dancer, or a sports team).
  13. How many girls will be mentored every year? Typically 10.
