A Mother Who Does it All

For May’s We Use our Voice for Good, I interviewed an inspiring author, podcaster, bookstore owner, and mother of four: Zibby Owens. Zibby lives in New York, although she travels to Los Angeles often to see family and friends. As a child, Zibby dreamed of becoming an author, and her dream has come true. Before she opened her bookstore in Santa Monica, Zibby started the podcast called “Moms Don’t Have Time to Read Books.” She explained, “People are so distracted and their attention spans are becoming shorter and shorter. That’s part of why I started my podcast, ‘Moms Don’t Have Time to Read Books.’” Zibby says that energy and determination has helped her throughout her career. Zibby enjoys many things. She shared, “I love to read, but that's also my career and my favorite thing to do which is very convenient. And I like to support other authors. So I don't know where my job ends and my life begins, but whenever I have freetime I love to go to book events.” Zibby is clearly so passionate about what she does. She is an amazing author, mother, and overall person, and I’m glad that I was given the opportunity to meet her. I have already been to her bookstore once and I look forward to visiting again in the future. I hope that we will be able to cross paths again.
